Put poetry on P.ie Put spuds in the trough Hear the savagery As they grunt and scoff. Nice! I particularly like the dual meaning of 'scoff' there.
I never put such a list up. I cherish them all, with the exception of the tiny handful on my Ignore list. Thanks ibis, I had a bit of a gift for poems when i was in school, then I wrote one to get back (destroy his reputation) a chap who was bullying me, he never bullied me again, and I stopped writing poems. It was all very upsetting at the time.
Did you get the animal in the image ? Unless it was someone in particular, rather than pigs in general - the 'spuds in the trough' conjurs up 'pearls before swine' for me. By the way, I have to say I would consider that a proper use of poetry - wooing of women, destruction of enemies - all good. |

| How did you spear him with your poetry? Was it in class? School magazine? Surreptitious note passed in class? I'm curious about the logistics - it sounds great. |

| I wrote the poem about his father, and made him (the son) sound like a little shite. The class loved it and saw the little shite differently as a result. Game over.
It was for english class around Inter Cert I think. | |

| Lampooning - one of the duties of the poet. I'm afraid I was a devil for thinking up the kind of unkind nicknames that really stuck. |

| are ye lunatics all still up at this hour of the morning? Im langers - had the FG DSE Constituency gig tonite- Jaysus if theres every an excuse for a few too many beers its an AGM. Anyway - considering the holy show I made of myself the last time I posted here with a pickled cranial cavity I think I'll leave it at that - unless of course FT is showboating again over at P.ie on any of the euro threads - the temptation may be too hard to resist all well more PMs from DC telling me to stop making the No camp look ridiculous and to stop stating the bleedin obvious tommorrow morning then! Nity Nite Edo |

Edo You too, eh? I got the one about not making the No arguments look ridiculous too. It's a particularly silly one. |

One's own power can be frightening, I understand why you didn't write any more. But as you are a decent person, you should your powers to the full, but wisely (Sensei speaks) |

- Yes the DGDS rule was simple and will apply here. It had the benefit that posters, being adults, evoked it automatically without the intervention of moderators. We were all there for a good rant and head-banging session now and then and we had a responsibility to mind our space. I think we largely did that but I just wonder on those Bertie/Tribunal threads whether it went off the rails ...?
Just spotted this old post Audi: how prescient of you (have always wanted to use that word. Not sure if spelled right though). |

| The future of the Machine Nation looks promising. Our economy is booming considering the acceleration of the posting rate from about 155 per day to 172 currently. New user numbers are up, viewings have increased, interest in the core group remains strong. Our pro-growth Moderation policy is fostering a nimble centre of dynamism that will in time over-take older powers like the PropertyPin and close the gap with P.ie. Then we can finally end the tyranny of Boards.ie and rule the world! |

Well make the fecker wait awhile anyway after the headmelting experience that is debating with him over Lisbon - here at least you know where the No crowd stand and the details will be debated without resort for complete hyperbole and grandstanding Im know I know - I should resist the temptation to get involved with him - its so hard tho |

An excellently moderated, fantastically well-informed, blessedly un-biased place free from political hackery. All has changed, changed utterly, a terrific beauty is born! I'll be back posting now after my mid-week trip to London. More to follow during the week. |
