| Kath arine Simms . She's lovely. Highly intelligent though, but that's no surprise. She would reference periodicals, and know the date, the number, the article, the writer, and the pages the article took up in the periodical completely from memory. I forget my own house number lol. |

| Drove fleet etc are all names for groups of animals? There are six counties starting with L by my reckoning, if you include An Lú. I can name all the 26 counties off by heart. |

| I think it's a parliament of crows and a murder of ravens. Dunno about foxes, a 'screech' of foxes? Did I just make that up? What do you call a group of rhinos? |

No, it couldn't have been. Magellan's ships still made it back, even if he did not. Therefore, the man who captained those ships would have been the first to navigate the globe, and he was Juan Sebastian Elcano.

What do you call a group of rhinos? A parliament of owls if I'm not mistaken. The collective noun for Unicorns has to be my favourite. |

Drake was captain when he set out and Captain when he returned - alive. |

| Elcano would have been captain of his own ship, whereas Magellan would have been captian of the overall fleet. That's my guess. |

Nope - he was a subordinate officer on one of the ships from Spain to Patagonia where he took part in a failed mutiny -he was spared the death penalty for treason by Magellan and after 5 months hard labour he was given the command of the "Concepción" - one of the 5 ships in Magellans fleet and from there (Patagonia) they set off to Indonesia and finally back to Spain via the cape of good hope - thus he wasnt the first "Captain" to go right around the world as a captain no? |

Drake's only distinction was that he was the first to do it under a single leader. But to circumnavigate something I do not think that distinction is necessary. One can circumnavigate the globe and not be the captain at all. |
