I haven't so much experience of forums and discussion on the internet to be qualified to tell you straight offhand but I'll guess that a troll on one site is a freedom fighter on another !

905 is very right in what he says I think - trollish behaviour and trolling are two seperate things. Almost everyone is capable of trollish behaviour in some way although you'll find that there are aristocrats around too who never appear to troll. Isn't the classic description of a troll a being who appears on a site or thread just to derail it eventually but who watches in glee while their opponents are slowly driven to anger. To me it is that - someone who intentionally indulges in making people angry.

A troll is someone who disrupts a discussion by stirring people up

I started as a troll on P.ie, trolling on the anti-Nigerian threads and annoying joel and dub666. A lot of posters use their ignore buttons if they think they are being trolled.
