Tell me about it, Cookie! I have over 100 of the damn things and I can always convinve myself that "Bollocks, yeah, its worth it!" when by any sober yardstick, it's not. |

iQuon computer for €350 - tower, 2GB ram, 320GB harddisk, 17" monitor ... half the price of one of cookie's shirts I believe the actuality of the offer is that they give you 25% of the value back in points on your tesco card. Grand except you'll just have to go spend more money in Tesco so essentially you aren't getting money off. |

| I don't know what that means about the points johnfas. I understood that Tescos send you cash or something sometimes... |

| They do sometimes but I think essentially what you are getting this time is...
Say you spend 100 euro on a TV, they'll put 25 euro worth of points on your clubcard which you can then spend in Tesco. Therefore, rather than getting 25% off, you really just get 25% more because whilst yes, you will have 25 more euro to spend in Tesco, you are still spending the full 100 euro on the product.
Its fine if you shop in Tesco anyway or whatever. |

| Sounds reasonable johnfas - do you not shop in Tescos? I prefer Lidl.
A lot of their (tescos) electronic stuff is not bargain priced, although some of it is so cheap ... printer/scanner/fax/dishwasher units for 80 quid or something - very reasonable - how do they make them so cheaply I wonder it's unbelievable.
Their DVDs are rarely well priced though. Or is everyone downloading DVDs with bittorrent or something these days?
I also saw a set of speakers in there for 10 quid into which you can stick a USB mp3 player. 10 feckin quid from Bush, too. It'd be a bargain if it played music directly from USB sticks but it says mp3 players. I have one but not the other. They're not the same I suppose...
(10 quid ... ) |

| I went to a berry picking farm in Rathfarnham on Saturday morning and got 12lbs of raspberries and 18lbs of strawberries for €65.20. In a supermarket, even with the current special offers, this would have cost €173.35.
My dad and the boyf's mum got 4lbs of raspberries each to make jam, the bf's mum got 4lbs of strawberries for the same purpose. The rest came to our house, where half were frozen from making homemade smoothies and half were eaten as a feast with homemade white chocolate and dark chocolate dipping sauces.

Is getting them home without eating them all not a potential problem ? | |

There is a certain amount of eating as you go. We used to go up to the farm as a family outing when we were younger, and there'd be competition between us to see who could pick most. One day of raspberry picking would yield the household supply of jam for the year. |

So I picked up two more today in Alias Tom. 50% off. I need help! I'm with you there. Bought 4 shirts for €35 a pop. Managed to avoid buying in BTs and Louis Copelands so far. Louis has not given the reductions I was expecting so far. |

| I'm sure I saw "8 Mile" in Tesco's for €3. I got some Tesco brand pasta sauce and spaghetti in there for one euro, the two. I got a bucket and a sponge in there too for two euro for washing the aould car.
There's really cheap bargains in there now, some price war going on against the German chains. |

| There is a Music shop in one of the shopping centres in Maynooth that are having what look to be a really good DVD sale, I don't know if it's part of a chain or not so unless you're in the area it's of little use to anybody. |

| I got a new phone for 25... I'm not terribly pleased with it though. I dropped my old one and it totally broke. Stupid nokia have changed the way things work now though - a text message screen looks more like sending an email! |
