| I notice RTE News has a new studio. I'll post a pic if I can find one on the net. They're going for a city backdrop... I don't think it works though because the studio is still the same sized and cramped, it is clearly a photographic backdrop. They need a much bigger studio if they're going to try that sort of thing. |

| Yea the last music was quite good actually. The last studio must have only lasted 12 months. |

| A big improvement on the dreary old set and the awful music and graphics. |

| This must have something to do with the refreshment of the website. RTÉ Business has substituted its old brown trousersuit for a demure dark blue number.
I didn't see any RTÉ news today so I can't comment on the TV revamp. I shall try to find some internet video so that I can pass judgement. |

| Too much going on in the background. To do something like that you need a much bigger studio so you can get more of a shot at the background. It just ends up looking like a peculiar pattern. I was always of the opinion that they should have sold Montrose during the boom years, established an RTE Trust with the proceeds that could run the station and invest in a fantastic high rise headquarters in Dublin City Centre with a sky high news studio over looking the city - magnificent. |

| Just watched some clips on RTÉ.ie. The music isn't as good as the previous incarnation and seems to be a pale imitation of the likes of CNN. The graphics are cleaner, sharper and generally better than before but they should be consistent about them. I don't like Brian Dobson standing there, it takes from his dignity and gravitas, something which is essential as a newscaster. ITV News do it and it is one of the reasons why they are among the least authoritative news outputs in the UK. |

And UCD could pick up some more prime property and develop a new multimedia campus for journalism/media courses and incubator units for start-up media companies out of it! |

They ceased to be authoritative years ago. long before they had guys standing around, when they went tabloid, around 1991-ish. |
