Machine Nation Monthly Stats - 30,000+ page turns a month!

The monthly stats for December. Seems there was a big jump from the month before - some of that came from p.ie being down but even so, the stats were headed past the previous month's numbers by around 22nd December. I don't think p.ie had been down then.

Some other interesting stuff - how people use the portal - great to see the links being used. And keyword analysis as to how people found us - moonies and minnesota ??

That's a good solid rise - and you can kind of feel it in the site.

The statistics are getting statisticer! What ibis just said on the previous post was very evident in January I thought - the site had a good rhythm. Was it a waltz

I think the pattern of the last row of bars is very interesting and I'd be really interested to know if other sites have that wavy pattern ... I didn't notice it before. Those last stats are MN by week back as far as since we started keeping the stats last July.

Next I'm going to map the moon phases onto that .....

Yep, it's extortionate so what we do is we invent some really cool financial instruments with assets derived from things such as post-modern Transdniestran art, widget futures and Iraqi property and sell these packages onto financial markets to ensure that the books balance. It's a sure-fire, fool-proof stratrgy!

This website literally costs only the time of the people who are interested in keeping it running. There's a fair bit of effort in it.

The monetary costs are quite low to run a site and forum, in fact it's free for this place but the forum won't be here forever.

Again I'll say there's a lot of effort put in by people who give generously of their time and knowledge - as well as that, members who contribute regularly are the other half of the wealth of the forum.

Lots of those numbers up there are your own.

Stats for the shortest month - the middle one is the weekly one going back to July. I think it's fascinating that it has peaks and troughs like a wave. I'd love to see similar stats from other forums - I'd guess they'd have this pattern too because of the moon affecting the brain like.

It would be interesting to see the full geographic spread. We know that the Kremlin reads MN regularly, and the Saudis. African readers so far are thin on the ground. 905 - a good thread or two form you might get them turning our pages.
