Machine Nation Monthly Stats - 30,000+ page turns a month!

I will start linking to a Stats page soon with only an image of the statistics on it, nothing more and the link will be on the bottom right-hand corner where the dollar image is which shows us how much Machine Nation is worth - 103 million dollars ! That's a measure of the number of links that are on the site, nothing more.

Here are the stats for the last 14 days and for October - well done to all who posted - the orange is the frequent returning visitors i.e. ourselves while the blue bar is other people and bots. The green is the number of pages turned or viewed on the site. Good stats for an eight-month old site.

What happened on October 20 to cause the spike?

They're great figures for an eight month old site - not long before we'll be walking now!

Someone could be bored and just constantly refreshing the site or someone could be putting stuff on the portal and constantly refreshing it or both could be happening at once. Then again maybe loads of readers appeared that day although you'd see a big blue line then.

The orange lines are us and other posters. Get more posters for that one. But remember, Michael Hennigan is just one poster and he gets millions per month. We need more loyal and adoring fans or subjects, slaves, whatever.

Michael Hennigan is more than just one poster, he has a whole team of Finfacters at his disposal to drive the whole thing forward.

If you look at the monthly stats, Kate P, there is a nice little trend.

Those are great figures Audi, we're growing at a sure and steady pace. I'm particularly interested in the fact that IE 7 is behind IE 6 in those who use this site. I thought IE 7 would've overtaken IE 6 at this stage.

How did yeer 'muster all the troops' effort go today? I'm afraid I was needed to doze through a talk on the link between apartheid and AIDS in South Africa (I perked up when they turned off the heating)

IE= Internet Explorer. (Microsoft)

I think it's more interesting that Firefox2+3 is beating the crap out IE6+7. That does not correspond in wider circles afaik.

I see XP is still higher than Vista. That's encouraging. I'm just not convinced by Vista and find XP to be perfectly acceptable.

I'm a SuSE 10.3 man but am considering Ubuntu. Maybe I'll switch over the xmas break. From the stats it seems I'm in a minority!

It is telling that XP still beats Appalling Vista, but what are you all going to do when Bill Gates retires XP? Switch to free software hopefully! Free as in speech and free as in beer.

I will be making the switch coc and if you want free speech and free beer, come along to Phil debates every Thursday at 7:30 in the GMB of Trinity after Christmas!

I've had Ubuntu for the past year now. It's great in fairness but requires a fairly high level of interest and persistence with the installation of it unless you're lucky.

I've had little other issues with ubuntu but it'd be lovely if all hardware ran with it out of the box. I'm convinced there's plenty of hegemony going on ...

A little luck never killed anyone! Maybe I will blog the migration as an aid to others.
