| Right, it is that time again when johnfás has to go to parties dressed up as something peculiar to generally make a fool of himself. Last year myself and the girlfriend had a double team effort, she dressed up as a giant canvas and I dressed up as a french artisan artist. Complete with real paint and a palette I painted her throughout the evening and won the prize for best costume. The year before myself and friends did not fair so well, we got red and yellow tshirts printed up with M on them - we were all a bag of M & M's. We thought it was good!
Any suggestions for this year? |

| an investment banker. have you a pinstripe suit, two tone shirt (collar/cuffs different colour to rest of shirt) red braces and a copy of the FT? a P45 tucked into into your breast pocket might be a nice addition! |

a P45 tucked into into your breast pocket might be a nice addition! And a noose around the neck, or a parachute. |

| Are you going to a party where everybody knows you? You could go as each other?
My other idea is that she could go as Joan of Ark and you as the executioner she may be pissed off when she finds out how Siobhán ends. |

| I'm recycling a costume from two years ago, I think, and going as Persephone. When the costume had its original outing, a friend went as Hades. That costume has now been offered to the bofy for use if we want to coordinate. They're pretty cool costumes, which we made from scratch, so it would be a shame if they only got one outing. |

And what, pray, does Persephone look like, all wheaty and stuff? No, that would be Demeter. Bearing in mind that you felt the need to provide a link (which a thinner-skinned person might have taken as an insult) did anyone know who ye were? |

It doesn't matter if people know who you are; you get to feel superior to them that they don't get the mythologically accurate costume features. (Must go pick some oak twigs today...) Because she represents the change of seasons, she usually is carrying or wearing something that's alive/fresh and something that's dead (wilted leaves and fresh ones). Anyway, I have nerdy friends, so they got it, and everyone else thought I was just a random Greek Goddess with a cool costume, so their sketchiness on mythology didn't matter. |

Did you get the hairstyle right-with ringlets? Persephone is my favourite goddess after Athene. |
