Fantasy Football 08/09

I'm no good at doing fantasy football but as I have been persuaded to enter a team into the competition I thought it would be fun to set up a league for the faithful members of Machine Nation to compete in.

That'd be fun. We don't have too much sport-related discussion here. It'd help increase the variety of discussion on the site and bring more punters in.

Do I have to select my players before joining the machine nation league whenever I click leagues it just comes up with the terms and conditions?

I tried to join a league of that name but it says it doesn't exist - do we have to set one up or did you do it yourself?

You put in the code 962691-172944 to join. It is called Random League 08.

I didn't want to draw too much attention to us on the fantasy league website as there are other websites that do it too. Also people are likely to have their real name attached.

It`s called Random League O8. The number that Johnfás posted at in his original thread key that in when your team is finished in the box under Leagues. It should then appear in the column on the right hand side.

Aha I'm in there now already with SeathrunCeiteann. I'll be interested to see how this functions ..

Every game that `s played will lead to points for our players and then at the end I win.

It doesn't allow us to peek at each other's teams until the first gameweek commences... which I think is this Saturday.

It is this Saturday. How about this everybody who takes part chips in a tenner and we all nominate a charity and then we donate it to the winner`s charity at the end of the year?

Sounds like a good idea. I don't know that we can virtually chip a tenner into a virtual box but we will make it a gentleman's agreement that each of us will donate to the winner's charity of choice.

Gentleman`s agreement it will have to be. A tenner isn`t going to kill us and I don`t see anybody reneging here to be honest. I nominate www.imet.ie for ME sufferers

Yea, so if for instance there are 10 of us in it. The nominated charity of the winner will receive 10 euro from each of us - 100 euro.

Don't think we could all nominate 10 euro to everyone's charity, it would seem a bit much.
