10 April 1885: Foundation stone of Dublin Science and Art Museum laid by Edward Prince of Wales on April 10 1885. Degree of Doctor of Laws publicly conferred on the Prince by the Royal University.

10 April 1923: Death of Liam Lynch. This legendary IRA leader was mortally wounded in an ambush by Free State forces in the Knockmealdown Mountains.

Meant to add that in earlier tonight when drafting this!

Raises the question though as to how far back does one go to consider an event 'History'?

I think 10 years on a Site is about right so I won't be adding in anything later than that.

The Agreement provided for the establishment of new institutions, across three “Strands”:

An Assembly and Executive within Northern Ireland to exercise partnership government based on equality (Strand I)

A North/South Ministerial Council to develop co-operation and action within the island of Ireland (Strand II)

A British-Irish Council to promote mutually beneficial East/West relationships. (Strand III)
