30 April 1795 – The Reverend William Jackson, United Irishman, agent of the French Revolutionary Government and confidante of Wolfe Tone was found guilty by the British and sensationally committed suicide in the dock by swallowing poison.

30 April 1916: Sniping continued during the night as the Rising came to an end. The men held outside the Rotunda overnight marched off to Richmond Barracks, Inchicore. Here they were screened and questioned by detectives of the DMP ‘G’ Division while held under military guard.

Surrender of the various outlying Insurgent positions continued as orders were brought to them to lay down their arms.

By last light the Rising was effectively over.

30 April 1945: Eamon De Valera visited the head of the German Legation Herr Hempel and offered his condolences on the death of the German Chancellor Adolf Hitler who had just committed suicide in Berlin as the Soviets proceeded to take the city.

Very Happy No, that came in the 1988 budget proposed to the Dáil by Ray McSharry. It was only by around 1994 that a lot of people began to feel the positive effects of the fiscal policies implemented.

Celtic Tiger as a phrase was coined by Kevin Gardiner, an economist at Morgan Stanley in the same year in an economic paper entitled "'The Irish Economy: a Celtic tiger" published on the 31st of August.
