/Mod If Rivada employed Libertas employees that would be a breach of the lw. As if appears that is the case then is there a need to redact? - Quote :
- If Nunn and Cochrane were employed by Rivada and providing services to
Libertas in 2007, this would seem to breach Irish law in relation to foreign donations and the limits allowed for an individual donation to a body involved in political campaigning. It would also raise questions in relation to the audited Libertas accounts for 2007. Substantial amount of funding for Libertas came from Ganley
It is a matter of record, Ganley has denied it but Naoise Nunncontinues to confirm that he was employed by Rivada. This has been ^posted before and no writs have flown........... nuff said If the law has been broken you should contact the Gardaí and/or the Standards In Public Office Commission. |

The Gardai will also wait for that report. You must be patient Cookie, anyway , every day one can do on the outside before sentencing is considered good by bailees. No need to rush ionto such an experience. I like Oz but I would not be eager to stay in such a place any earlier than necessary. that might be just me though.

Yeah Sipo have to report first then it proceeds further if they deem it necessary they will involve the Gardai etc. Remember Ganley was not cooperating with them a few months back

No. You hope Auditor #9 asked if it was going though some sort of court at the moment. It's not. There is no hope about it, it's fact, it's not. |

| Can ye try to somehow - somehow contort this thread into a discussion of policy issues that Libertas might or mightn't have - Pan Europeanly.
Whether cookiemonster or tonys get paid is off topic but feel free to open another topic on that one if you can drag a page out of it in an objective and interesting manner ... |

No. Nor will we ever be. It's impossible to be on topic here. Poster A: Flase statement Poster B: Counter statement clarifying flase statement Poster A: Repeat flase statement. Poster B: Repeat counter statement Poster A: On realising he's actually talking crap makes a desperate play and drags in some other issue not at all related to false statement or counter statment. Lather, rise, repeat... |

dishonesty in funding claims Isn't that a general problem with political parties - don't they all pull fast ones left right and centre ??? Why are you just going for Libertas on this one when you could be fruitfully passing your time attacking FF FG and God knows who else. I don't know what dishonesty in funding has to do with their policies anyway - can you open a thread or is there one already on funding and discuss it there ? FA - why are you trying to do the work of the SIPO - don't you trust them ? If you don't maybe that could form the substance of another thread if you had enough energy for that one ? as far as I know we are waiting for a SIPO report on the party funding so can't you just wait until that comes out ? Any sign of a small, teeny weeny tiny post on the Policies of Libertas Pan Europewise ?? |

- Libertas's source of campaign cash
Independent.ie WebSearch Monday March 31 2008
In the course of the latest in a series of personalised attacks on supporters of the Lisbon Treaty, this time on Gay Mitchell MEP, Libertas have said that they are "in communication with the Standards in Public Office Commission, and are totally compliant with the relevant legislation" (Letters, March 28). The leader of the group, Declan Ganley, said recently that they have not received any individual donations higher than €5,000.
And yet, they are in a position to fund two offices -- one of which is in a prime Dublin location -- several members of staff, a national billboard campaign and the distribution of leaflets to 1.8 million households across the country.
The Progressive Democrats ran their election campaign on a similar scale last year, and it cost them over €1m.
And yet Libertas insist they can fund the same kind of campaign with small donations from its "several hundred" supporters?
If they achieve this, it would truly be the political equivalent of the feeding of the 5,000
The SIPO report into their activities should make for interesting reading.

CLONTARF, DUBLIN Can't find anything about IBEC members yet, but found this in the Indo. Auditor#9, I would not mind at all if you wanted to split this off into a funding thread. Anyone else mind? |

How about a general party funding one of the kind I like -- Political Party Funding Thread / Libertas and MN anxiously wait for SIPO report Cactus doesn't like those type of threads and EVM neither where it might change in the summer to Political Party Funding Thread / Fianna XXX and MN anxiously wait for SIPO report |

CLONTARF, DUBLIN Can't find anything about IBEC members yet, It's little wonder. I said the quote came from an indo article in June. That letter is dated from March. It's also written by incredibly annoying YFG twit Barry Walsh. He is as weirdly fanatical and immature on P.ie too. |
