Why is Turkey a problem? Integration of the laws or immigration or what?
There isn't a huge islamic community here at all like there is in France. I'd imagine you are all fairly well integrated though.
I've been to Turkey twice and my husband spent a month walking there last year. I also spent a year in Berlin, which means meeting lots of Turks. I have always got along well with them and found them warm and quite jolly. They were until recently very much into maintaining a strictly secular state. Thanks to the Yanks that has changed a bit recently. The Kurdish thing is a bit of a problem I suppose. It is interesting to consider how joining the EU would affect them.
Integration looks like a thing of the past I'm afraid.
And what about my dear Sans Papiers? Will you be trying to run them back into the sea? They seemed to truly have embodied the French culture of Lib Eq and Frat.
