Quote :
"peata raithnigh"= pet of the ferns.

Much nicer than 'peata cabáiste', isn't it?

The ferns would be easier to lie on as well. Smile

Auditor, they crashed all over the West Coast during the Armada but they had also been trading extensively etc. before that. I`ve heard some surnames in the West being mentioned in relation to Spaniards. The name Igoe (a Galway/ Roscommon and Mayo surname said to come from Diego) is one for instance. The Spanish in Spanish point were massacred by the way.

I saw an old map the other day with "El Dinguel" marked on it. Another one for the signpost perhaps...

I'm sure I've heard of some people around the place called Igoe - is there an 'Igoe Inn' somewhere? Or a 'Hugo Inn'?

Did ... we kill them ... all ?

And I found out some doppleganger of a site which purports - Rolling Eyes - to have all the names of the flowers I already have named on the other pages. It's from the - Rolling Eyes - Burren Perfumery site. Have a look at the 'Lesser Celandines' (Buttercuppus Commonus) 'Greater Stitchworth' (Daisiumus Populus) 'Irish Rolling Eyes Eyebright' (Daisiumus Grotesquus)
