Giving up.

That's it. I think I'm giving up on p.ie. I try to have an intelligent discussion about how the problems with Islam, may have more to do with the demographics of it's members, as illustrated by comparisons with other communities with similar demographics, and I'm called stupid. Not by a troll, but by a poster who i'd normally consider intelligent, though with whom I disagree a lot. If one cannot have an intelligent debate on that site with a supposedly intelligent individual, then how can one have one with the rest of the trolls. So I think I'm giving up. It takes up way too much of my time anyway. It's machinenation for me from now on, the ambience is so much better.

If you every see me there again, I'll be expecting a strong rebuke. You can be my support circle to stop me from relapsing :-)

You're too good for that place now. I don't want to start another thread ranting about p.ie in particular but could there be a critical mass of bodies on a site before you get a herd instinct kicking in? Maybe big is not better but loads of small cells like they have in the SAS ..

Well, he'll just have to cut taxes to incentivise foot-loose capital to remain domiciled in his jurisdiction, won't he? Otherwise P.ie goes Italian and suffers a dbt crisis and has to devalue all posts in order to resuscitate aggregate demand. Meanwhile, go-getting, libertarian Machine Nation does a Singapore and booms along grandly.
