Will this put to rest all those accusations that the currency exchange figures are an unbelievable co-incidence? Very Happy

heh heh - yes - in fairness it was the learjet that got hit - not Bertie.

Hope Gormley and Ryan have a word - using a private jet to go 80 miles up the road doesnt give the most environmentally friendly example to the rest of us regarding Climate Change now does it?

Bertie making the most of the perks while they are still available to him?

Probably just doing his job...

Though I'm inclined to agree about the environmental impact.

I don't think this was a photocall he wanted to miss!
It would be good if the Government agreed a standard for when it is ok for Minister to take flights (Maybe they have done that already?). That would stop the injustified sniping every time somebody takes a flight. It would also make them look more serious about their carbon footprint. Leading by example across the board is a good policy.

I guess the sniping wouldn't stop fully considering how conscientious the Green ministers are and yet they are the ones everybody tries to criticise, e.g. Gormley to Bali and Eamonn Ryan's business class flight. It is up there with Dail Holidays and any increase in anybody's wages for lazy journalism.
