Hitherto (<- a master of English as well ), the Tocco was the only phone that had Irish as one of the predictive text languages but now you can get something similar on most other phones. It's an application you download but it works more or less the same way as your messaging thing will. It's free from the above site and made by Foras na Gaeilge and Vodaphone (but you don't need to be Vodaphone.. it works on all the networks)

It's a great resource for me personally (though I've been making good progress with my fada-less words saved into the English T9), and I'm sure it'll be useful for a fair few of ye here as well. Enjoy!

A list of them from An Chuallacht's bebo below! (not sure where the list comes from originally) I'm not sure how many of them would be used though... I don't use many abbreviations in Irish or English when texting so mine'd usually just consist of "gr!

cnnc - Creid nó ná creid!

ar e na he - Ar eagla na heagla (Just in case)

DD!! - Déan deabhadh! / Déan deifir! (Hurry up)

Llnd - Labhair leat níos déanaí (Ttyl)

st - Slán tamaill (Bfn)
sgf - Slán go fóill (Bfn)ma" for go raibh maith agat..and cgl for "ceart go leor"... that's about it I suppose! I've a friend who uses nothing but abbreviations though and I never have a clue what they're trying to tell me so use sparingly

dd/ddb - Dia duit / Dé do bheatha

cgl - Ceart go leor (Ok)

mgl - Maith go leor (Ok)

fgf - Fan go fóill (Brb)

grm(a) - Go raibh maith agat (Tnx)
