A couple of reports on the Beeb caught my eye today. One suggets that Americans are going to have a harder time getting their way in Pakistan, whose people are getting weary of being targeted due to the War on Terror:
Quote :
Pakistanis believe a deadly bombing campaign in the country is the price they are paying for missile strikes and large scale army operations against the militants. Nearly a thousand people were killed in suicide attacks last year.
The good news is that Americans are a little more popular than they were. Here's the survey in full: http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/shared/bsp/hi/pdfs/02_04_08_globalview.pdf Apparantly support for Russia has shot up, so fair dues there. Pakistan, Israel and Iran get the worst results, though what Pakistan did to deserve them escapes me.
If you're interested, I 've dug up an old article by Krauthammer about increasing global support fot the US. It's a howl, I tell ya. It came out around the time of the Australian elections but of course, that's not mentioned. http://www.ireland.com/newspaper/world/2007/1119/1195251431402.html
