I'd say so but I don't know. I found that on youtube and I think it's mighty. If he didn't win then there's no God.

Children singing is always very enjoyable. We used to host a musical festival at my secondary school every year for junior infants to sixth year school choirs, orchestras, individual choral and instrumental. Participating in it and in the organisation of it were amongst my fondest times in school.
Here is some nice singing by children in the UK:

Plenty of J.K. Rowling inspiration in that one johnfás. It'll be lovely at Christmas to listen to that stuff, even if you are an atheist like me. Even if you don't believe in it, God and Jesus somehow gets into you (and touches you deep inside*). Maybe I'll convert ...

You're not going to get me so easily, johnfás...
Is this the reincarnation of the young joplin?

I would not be surprised if that girl's voice was destroyed by 18. Children should not be encouraged to overstretch their voices. Nor should anyone without proper vocal training.
On a broader note regarding vocal aerobics, I was talking to a member of the NSO on the weekend and we were just commenting on how such aerobics say to us - cannot hold a note.

You're right about training, johnfás, but the probability is she'll have training. If you think she can't hold a note, you must be a tad tone deaf. She's a stunning singer. She sings from the heart, too. And if that makes any difference, when she was asked what would she do with the million she won, she said straight off she was giving some to her church, because they had helped her so much.

I've thought about this some more. I can think of several former untrained child/teen stars and vocal gymnasts who have yelled their way throught life with no problems: - Alanis Morisette, Ella Fitzgerald, Celine Dion, Mariah Carey, Kate Bush, Cher: I'm sure there are plenty more.
I can also think of a couple of the finest and most highly trained opera singers who lost their voices after very short careers - Maria Callas and the wonderful Margaret Burke Sheridan who I wrote about here:
From what I can see drink, smoke and respiratory diseases can take a toll on people's voices, as well as, possibly, oversinging. In Callas's case it was under use of her voice, due to her liaison with Onassis, that ended her career - when she tried to return after a few years without performing, she found she could not recover her voice.
Could it be that the voice coaches are the ones who say that voice training is so critical to longevity of career?

ortoPilot singing Snow Patrol's Run. Wow. He's got a fine voice, more basic and personal guitar interpretation and an echo chamber. He sounds like someone - definitely not Leona Lewis. orto #1 for Christmas !
I like this one a lot too - Coldplay 'Viva La Vida'
I used to rule the world Seas would rise when I gave the word Now in the morning I sweep alone Sweep the streets I used to own I used to roll the dice Feel the fear in my enemy's eyes Listen as the crowd would sing: "Now the old king is dead! Long live the king!" One minute I held the key Next the walls were closed on me And I discovered that my castles stand Upon pillars of salt, pillars of sand
I hear Jerusalem bells are ringing Roman Cavalry choirs are singing Be my mirror my sword and shield My missionaries in a foreign field For some reason I can't explain Once you know there was never, never an honest word That was when I ruled the world (Ohhh)
It was the wicked and wild wind Blew down the doors to let me in. Shattered windows and the sound of drums People couldn't believe what I'd become Revolutionaries Wait For my head on a silver plate Just a puppet on a lonely string Oh who would ever want to be king?
I hear Jerusalem bells are ringing Roman Cavalry choirs are singing Be my mirror my sword and shield My missionaries in a foreign field For some reason I can not explain I know Saint Peter will call my name Never an honest word But that was when I ruled the world (Ohhhhh Ohhh Ohhh)
Hear Jerusalem bells are ringings Roman Cavalry choirs are singing Be my mirror my sword and shield My missionaries in a foreign field For some reason I can not explain I know Saint Peter will call my name Never an honest word But that was when I ruled the world (Oooooh Oooooh Oooooh)

This song does it for me. It's so different and original, love it. He wrote it himself too.

He's got a good solid crisp style of guitar playing too. Now why do you like that song riadach ?

Not sure. I suppose the reference is made, he's talking about love and sacrificing yourself for a loved one, in the context of a video game. It's so romantic yet surreal. There is a good creative mix there, two great ideas, love and video games, to produce something uniquely new, fresh and original. Or even that something as simple as a video game can remind him of someone he loves. There seems to be a lot of depth there.

He stops the video game and doesn't get annoyed - are you sure it's real.
Well picked out - it's the next step for this thread to progress to the original ones.

Alone together. This James Taylor duet is very nicely done here by this pair. Something in the way she moves. Your man plays the guitar tastily and the black and white is tasty too. Worth at least a pennyclik.
Found this fella while googling for versions of 'Time After Time'. Bit loud in the middle but competent guitarist and not bad sound out of his bedroom. Ben Deignan doing Every Breath You Take https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MZ4xDs_xQ9Y
He also does the Eric Clapton number If I Could Change The World pretty well and an 'interpretive' version of Rihanna's 'Umbrella' This chick also does Rihanna's Umbrella (10 million views ) - what's so special about that tune ? Everyone singing Irish half way through ?? In the link here she's singing a N. Furtado song. Seems she's got her act together with an album and touring and all. Perspiration over inspiration in her case.

I just opened this link in a small window and watched it while out of the corner of my eye to my left, your head bashed off the keyboard in time and just at the right times, slim buddha.
Inspiring.

Indeed, Kate. Headbanging for a new age.
The guy is good. Anybody who can match John Squire note for note knows his way around a guitar. Looking to see if he does a cover of (I am the) Resurrection. If he can nail that, he has a career.
