He wrote almost science speculation rather than fiction. He is popularly credited with dreaming up the notion of the satellite.

Already a legend long long ago, he is now somewhere in a galaxy far ..

Valeria Cox, Pat Kenny's reporter met him on his 90th birthday on 16th December last and asked him if he believed in an afterlife. He said "No, that's it - the computer gets switched off. But I don't know for sure, do I?"

I've read a few as well now and always thought he was speculative as opposed to fantastical. I know people live on Mercury and Venus in Rendevous with Rama but who knows ..?

He was also a very conservative personality in real life according to the news people after he died.
