John Kalahan either needed therapy or an off-switch - he was different. I really don't see the need for an ignore-button either.

There were a few racist posters who endlessly reproduced "factoids" that were never substantiated. Very enjoyable to take the P out of them and collect honorable insults. But overall one of the reasons I am mainly here and not on P.ie is that in my view P.ie allowed itself at times to be used as a platform by full-time obsessives who were saying things that would be in breach of the law if said in the street.

Im sure if every such an infestation should occur here it would be dealt with expeditiously by our excellent mods.

I like the ignore button. I find it almost impossible not to engage with a certain type of poster - unfortunately, often those with whom there is least point engaging, because their world-view appears to be written on graven tablets.

L'Chaim is a good example - I have quite a bit of respect for Israel, and an unsettled view on the rights and wrongs of the situation, which seem to indict every party. However, I'd rather row in with JCSkinner than let L'Chaim dismiss everyone else's suffering but the Israelis. So I put him on ignore.

Was it aeroblue? It was nice. The straight lines that seem to have emerged in the last few minutes are quite severe. Does that make any sense? Feel free to ignore me if it doesn't? I think it's a warm and cosy place here...
