PostSubject: Seán as teanga an Dhiabhail   Seán as teanga an Dhiabhail EmptyThu Jun 26, 2008 1:57 am

Tá ceist beag agam oraibh. An bhfuil a fhios agaibh cibé go bhfuil nó go mbeidh filíocht Sheáin Uí Ríordain le fáil as Béarla.. táim ag smaoineamh agus ceapaim go chualas go mbeidh... ach tá rudaí ann leis an gcóipcheart... tuigim go bhfuil aistriúcháin le fáil cheana féin le cúpla dánta, ach ní hé an chás é maidir lena chnuasaigh iomlána go bhfios dom...

ná ceapann sibh gur ceart é a chur le fáil ar nós sin nó cad iad bhur dtuairimí?

Bhuel, is féidir, ach ní bheadh sé chomh maith mar déanann sé rudaí i nGaeilge nach féidir a chur i mBéarla freisin..

Sea. Tá leaganacha Béarla le fáil go cinnte, ach ní cheapaim go bhfuil leabhair iomlána le fáil (ní féidir leat a leabhar 'eireball spideoige' a cheannach as Béarla mar shampa, go bhfios dom).

Ceapaim go bhfuil an cóipcheart (copyright) ag cur isteach é ach nílim cinnte

Buachaill, I don't intend on disrupting your thread, but I want to try and translate that. My Irish is improving by the minute on this site.

Tá ceist beag agam oraibh. An bhfuil a fhios agaibh cibé go bhfuil nó
go mbeidh filíocht Sheáin Uí Ríordain le fáil as Béarla..

I have a small question for ye. Do ye know (cibé) if now or will the poet Sean (le fáil) in english

táim ag
smaoineamh agus ceapaim go chualas go mbeidh... ach tá rudaí ann leis
an gcóipcheart...

I am thinking and I think (go chualas) that it will...but there's stuff here (leis
an gcóipcheart... )

tuigim go bhfuil aistriúcháin le fáil cheana féin le
cúpla dánta, ach ní hé an chás é maidir lena chnuasaigh iomlána go
bhfios dom...

I understand .... several people ? but that's not ....that I know

ná ceapann sibh gur ceart é a chur le fáil ar nós sin nó cad iad bhur dtuairimí?

Or do ye think that it is right (le fail) our old ?? or what's your opinion ?

I'm in serious trouble with those two sentences.

Apologies again for derailing the thread.

Well let me or some other beginner try to fill in the blanks that I know and rightly ruin the thread altogether What a Face

le fáil = to be found

I understand .... several people ? but that's not ....that I know
aistriúcháin = translation (I learned that from not translating the Charter Embarassed )
maidir lena = as regards / dealing with ?

Is it hard for you when the kiddies want help with their irish or do they teach you ? I've no idea what chualas means and I refuse to use dictionaries.

I think we're breaking the language rules of our own Charter here albino
