| Party time.
This is the second time a major act of non violent direct action has been sanctioned on this island by a jury in the last few years.
Eamonn McCann was found guilty of theft mind you, but got conditional discharge.
This is a major victory so far as those who abhor needless war are concerned.
Watch the media jump through hoops for a couple of days and then drop the issue like it never existed.
Congrats to the nine - the nightmare's over! (Well the six who were on trial. It's very doubtful now that the Crown will try the other three, seeing the complete embarassment this one's brought for both the Crown and the baby killer's blessing: Raytheon.)

| I hear that when it was put to McCann that he was engaged in wanton destruction of property, he said if that was what he was about, he would not have opened the window before throwing the computer out through it. |

| A superb article has appeared on Indymedia, written by Goretti Horgan of the Derry Anti War Coalition (DAWC), a close associate of the Raytheon heroes, that tells of the post-trial feelings of the men celebrating their untarnished freedom. The article gives a great insight into what motivated these gentlemen and how they approached their prosecution. Methinks this article will be featurised on Indy (a no brainer really). Article here. |
