We have been told, or have been telling ourselves, that it was worth putting up with Bertie because he was the right man to manage the economy... confused

People are clearly feeling that Bertie was not 'value for money'.

Is there anyone out there who feels we should keep him on any longer? And is there anyone around who could do any better?

Bertie and the wider FF party should have been making hay for the last ten - fifteen years while the going was good. But instead of that they just told us things were good and we believed it. Now when we've hit a rough patch their eyes aren't on the economy ball at all, they're eyeing the crowd up for a way out of their own troubles.

If Bertie were floated on the stock market I don't think he'd be worth that much.

While I have no Gra mór for wooden Enda and his party of moaners or dirty socialist Labour I think either would do a better job then FF and Bertie. I don't think the correct question to ask is "could anybody do any better?" rather it should be "can anybody do any worse?" and save letting Joe Higgins run riot in the Dept of Finance I think the answer to the latter question is NO.

"Can anybody do any worse"

There is no prospect of Joe doing that thanks to the foresight of the electorate. FG on their own would I fear be totally incompetent.

None of them look hungry for government. Perhaps we should stop paying opposition T.D.s they are too comfortable to want the hassle of forming a government.

I'm not so sure. I think some of them were pretty fed up that the other shower were going on their Paddy's Day holidays again this year while they had to stay home and fume on the old sod.

Envy if nothing else might spur them on to greatness...

no surprise really, corruption is bad for business and therefore is bad for the economy.
