A US academic has republished a 1930s marital rankings chart. 'Superior' wives could sew on a button, kept their stocking seams straight, dressed for breakfast (?) and were willing to go to bed. 'Failure' wives would not let their husbands sleep on at weekends, did not like children and put their cold feet on husbands to warm them up in bed.
