The Sudan government has broken off links with Chad, claiming that 1,000 fighters who attacked Khartoum were trained by the Chadian government.

Jody Corcoran today wrote a hostile piece in the Independent, firing a shot across Cowen's bows.

He says that -
- Cowen's cabinet has no electoral mandate
- They are an establishment that got power through nepotism
- They will roll back the centre-right Ahern line and shift leftwards.
