| What has happened to Eurosong? The songs are normally dire but this year they are absolutely fantastic. I am genuinely surprised. I cannot choose between them. They are seriously good this year. |

Any favourites? The second one and the last one ? I liked them all but the two weakest were Numbers 1 and 3. Any of the others would be superb. I actually think a couple couple win the whole contest, something that has not been the case with any Irish song since they changed the Eurovision voting system. The old system of juries suited songs from Ireland, as did the fact that the only countries in were western Europe plus Israel. Now results rest on popular sentiment, regional tastes and regional loyalties. But a couple of songs actually would suit international listeners. It seems that someone finally woke up to the fact that the traditional template used pre-public voting now won't work. We have spent a decade picking songs that might have won pre the change in voting but had zero chance since the voting system changed. Well done RTE. This time they got it right. |

| Dear oh God. Purely for craic with a friend of mine I was watching while we texted our comments to each other.
Every single song with Crap predictable key changes in the last twelve bars. A band that looked like as if they had a quick session on Nintendo Rock Star Band Edition as practice. Dancing around kitchen chairs.
This was car crash television and was a continual crime against music. Jerry Springer's tongue was so far in his cheek that he was talking through his ass the whole night. I would expect Linda Martin and Ireland's answer to Hughie Green, The Plank, to play up this cack.
I need a shower. |

| I thought the last two songs were fantastic. Both had a European input and therefore would have picked up votes from other countries in the Final. The wining song was great but the girls need some work image wise, the main singer needs a new wardrobe. I loved the gorgeous keyboard player. RTE should really push the international aspect of the song in the media to pick up votes from Sweden and Italy in the final. I think this song has a good chance of winning the Eurovision and is an example to Ireland during these gloomy times. If we work with our European partners we can be successful but when we laugh at them and disrespect them (i.e. dustin last year) the joke is on us. |
