It's a lot cooler this weather, and it's to be cooler again tomorrow. We'll be back into scarves and coats before we know it!

A beautiful morning and the garden is overloaded with blossom - hawthorn, chestnut, wisteria and apple. Even the holly is flowering energetically. With the windows open the house smells like the perfume department of BT.
The only down side is a slightly sniffy nose from a trace of hay fever.

How long have we had this stunning weather for now? This time last year we were at the end of a period of global warming and the onset of global flooding began around the same era and lasted for 65 consecutive days in Dublin apparently. I can' remember how bad the west was but it must have been at least twice as worse as Dublin. I think we had four months of rain down here in June and July last year...

Well, afaicr, May of last year was very nice and sunny. Perhaps we're heading for a re-run of last year. In that case we'll need a big marquee if we're going to ahve the 100 day party in the beer garden of the Sibín.

The dry weather will last as long as it takes for my recently planted beech hedge to die. Then we'll get torrential downpours.

Indeed, any time I post something economic, there's a chance you'll post one of your mini-novel entries that de-constructs what I've just said.

Being in agreement is weird. Perhaps it's the Machine Nation Effect!

Must be - tho in fairness I would call the P.ie Effect - you were going around like a mad yoke over there winding up the Doomers and I often got you confused with Mr CSO - Freedom lover - P.ie is totally gone to the dogs now - its coarse vulgar repetitous and seems to bring out the worst in posters ,despite the best efforts of an honourable crew still fighting the good fight over there.

Over here - things are a lot more chilled out and I see you as a much more rounded, interesting, thoughtful and intelligent contributor -so keep it up! - you set the bar hight!

Anyway back on topic - In retrospect - Seeing as I have signed up to work for the summer, instead of working on my golf handicap as I had been planning a few weeks ago - Sods law its going to be scorcher of a summer - and I'll be stuck in my office underneath the underground car park here in Sandyford for the Duration. Evil or Very Mad

Well, I was mistaken for freedomlover in the early days, yes. I suppose there was an elision between myself and freedomlover over there because our position was under such constant attack, it pushes people together.

Well, I like the people here on the Machine Nation. Yourself, Auditor #9, Kate P, cactus flower, ibis, cookiemonster, riadach, the list goes on and on. I'm at peace posting here. I haven't got some numpty putting me in bad humour as was in P.ie, plus I'm a global mod so, instead of having to engage with them, I can just nuke them with deletions. Simple and fun and I certainly do intend to keep posting at an elevated platform of discourse in three languages here(take that, kim chi, for calling me a monoglot!)

Underneath the underground car park in Sandyford? That sounds like the Irish terminus to the Underworld. The love of God be with you there!

Sounds bad alright - but it has its advantages.

I do have a desk up on the top floor with the rest of middle management in a sunny open plan office - but Im a hands on guy and the warehouse and shipping area is located deep underground - so thats where I like to be , where I can see whats going on.

Also because its miles away from the rest of the mob - If anybody wants to see me about something - they have a long way to walk so I dont get any timewasters or watercooler migrants!

Yes I am Hades - Lord and master of the underworld - or Gollum as I am referred to by the Sun worshippers upstairs!!

So, this is in Xsil central in Ireland? How far underground is it? 6 storeys? I suppose it'd be about the same level that the Tube trains are in London. Would I be right in saying that?

True, and, from my experience of watching Dexter on UTV the last few weeks, you could have a side-line as a serial killer, and nobody would know!

You could wrong-foot them by requesting to be known as Smeagol and throwing a multiple personality tantrum if they refuse!

We had a marvellous rainshower here earlier (after I got the washing in - God is good!) - off now for my second walk of the day to clear the brain in that fresh air, which feels very different than it did twelve hours ago. It's much cooler now and my sunburn is fading into an itch.

There's a rabbit/hare in the field beside the house who is having a bunny old time with a pair of magpies and a blackbird. I've noticed him a few times lately from the kitchen window - there's something beautiful about the way he moves. He's sitting in the ring feeder now and rubbing his nose just like you'd imagine Brer Rabbit does.

So walkies - to walk off the velvety chocolate brownie I had for linner (is that what they call the cross between lunch and dinner?)

Now he has a bunny buddy - a smaller version, lighter in colour with a proper white tail. She's chasing him around the field. No prizes, I suppose for guessing what the reward is for catching him. Maybe there'll be a trail of little bunnies next time I see them...

Right. Walkies in the cool air.

It's still a bit cold though. My sister was up from Leitrim last 2 days, she said it's much warmer in Leitrim. Is the East coast cooler in general this time of year ?

I'd say it's fresh here in the wesht but no way cold. The weather has been incredible really. I don't know if the length of this thread tracks the good weather we've been having but it's been more or less consecutive sunniness for 2 ish months...

Hazy weather in Dublin but it does not look like it is threatening to rain too much. Cloudy but plenty of visibility, I can still see the stripey chimneys of the Poolbeg Power Station out the window from the library here in UCD.
