I'd consider that in the mountains now.. being in Enniskerry as it is! No, it is the Phoenix Park actually.

Well, it was the only big bit of green space I could think over that direction. Was that photo taken by the Magazine up by the Phoenix Park?

Was indeed, we walked from Wellington up to there, up behind the American Embassy, around past the Papal Cross and back down, stopping for an ice cream en route. Very nice day.

On a more bizarre note, has anyone ever seen two birds kissing before? It looked particularly like that was what was going on outside my window this evening. I hate to be a voyeur on such things, but I really had to.

Jaysus, that's some walk. I've been up there many times before, it's truly a great part of Dublin.

Also spent time in Dun Laoghaire on that patch that's beachy when then tide goes out just the Blackrock side of Salthill/Monkstown DART station. Wandered up and down until the fog drifted in and it got cold - sun on our backs and mist on our faces - weird but wonderful. Drove home then along (but not through, sadly) the Wicklow mountains which looked like chocolate brown teddybears in green velvet waistcoats that had had their fur loved off in patches. Husband drove, I ogled the scenery.

I had an unexpected half day today, put on the shorts to sit out and work outside - and the sun went in. It's been nice but not great. Grrr.

Eating a big bowl of salad in the hope of drawing the sun back out for an hour before I have to work again.

Lovely and sunny still here in Dublin. Not much use for you I suspect though, weather tends to move from the West in these parts!

Goodness, you'd never believe what they're getting up to now. This is quite some education. I think I'm going to have to study with my curtains closed on future evenings...

You should shoot them with tranquilliser darts, tag them, and observe with reports posted here on the Machine Nation. Find out if your lecturers have bird fetishes and include these photos in your course-work for extra credits.

But is was a very good day on the 6th for my solar panels, chugging away providing hot water for office and home alike. And will be better today.

sunny

Does anyone know what is the very bright yellow star to be seen low to the south east these nights?

The good weather brought pain as well as pleasure. I had to bring my daughter to the A and E with suspected appendicitis last night, and the waiting room was full of people of all ages and both sexes with foot and leg injuries swathed in bandages.

If you are going outside for the first time since September, take care, you may be unsteady on your pins.

Ouchies - she alright? Hopefully it isn't. Although it is a very routine procedure in this day and age.

Was the appendix whipped out via a tube-like computer camera?

It was some day for muggy heat down the Wesht - hazy heavy day. It rained for a bit and that dusty smell came up that I haven't smelled in years. What is that smell? Dust?

It was not like ER - I was not running around the operating theatre throwing things and sticking my head into the action. I was in a corridor chewing my fingers down to the knuckles. I can provide no technical details whatsoever.

It was beautiful here too - apple blossom out.

I believe they do whip it out via a tube-like computer camera these days. I hope your daughter isn't too upset that she'll no longer be able to act as a natural lawn mower now that her vital organ is gone Very Happy.

I bought a swing - a self-assembly one for feck-all money because I can't decide on a proper timber one or where to put it. This I can move around to catch the sun. It took me half an hour to put together on my own and is rather comfy. It's swaying gently now as I sit out in the breeze under a blanket. I have a notion that most of the summer will be spent out here.

It's a dull day here in Cowen Country. On the day of his great homecoming he seems to have forgotten that he was elected from two counties, not just one. The people of Laois are, I understand, rather annoyed at being left out. No wonder the sun isn't shining on him.

One that you hang off a tree or one that has its own frame? Don't move the ones with the frames about too much because when you swing hard on them they lift up if you don't have it secured to the ground properly!

We have a nice timber swing down in Wexford, but some young hooligan cut the ropes on it a few years ago Evil or Very Mad back in good working order now though cheers
