Bye Laws in Ireland Empty

I was running a scenario through my head there and the Bye law thing entered the fray.

I know there are bye laws on airports and parks, beaches, certain streets etc. depending on where and all that.

Does the Phoenix Park have bye laws also ?

Anyway, the question is : Are the Gardaí automatically able to enforce every bye law nationwide ?

If so, there must be a statutory instrument or something somewhere.

Apparently a City Council in UK have closed parks on health and safety grounds in case children use the park to go sleigh riding. Rolling Eyes

So I was wondering if a Garda can prevent me from entering the Phoenix park on the same bye law, if it exists.

Unless of course, there is H&S legislation that I'm not aware of.

Not all bye-laws are enforced by Gardaí - in fact I don't know if any are.

Many are enforced as you suggest in your example, by council staff because they are developed and implemented by councils. For example, parking and litter laws are not enforced by Gardaí.
