| I've found a challenge here. To find out what a tephigram is by old fashioned means. Asking people instead of google or wiki.
So, wtf is a tephigram people ? I never heard of it.

| Peak wiki. Interesting concept. I'll go to sleep on that. Is information really information anymore if it is permanently on tap? How can a kid go into school and impress their friends that they found out over the weekend that a crocodile egg is always 57% longer than it is wider, or whatever . Has wiki etc. dulled the excitement factor of new information ? There's a good thread in that there somewhere Audi. | |

There's a good thread in that there somewhere Audi. I remember the enormous frustration of trying to find something out before the Internet - asking people, searching in libraries, trying to get reprints of out of date papers. Yes, you need to triangulate the information these days - but you did then as well, and it took months. |

Interesting question if information on tap dulls the thirst for it - we'll get a thread out of that one alright. Information was more fun to find before wiki though - it was more like a hunt or something, now there's no or little mystery now that there is the internet. Having said that, the internet was a lot more jungly without wiki which was overdue for years. I keep trying to remember that I must look for certain information that might be interesting but then I forget what information I wanted to look for in the first place. Anyone ever get that ? |

| Yeah. The decision tree of knowledge was : Does mam or dad know --NO--> Is it in the encyclopedia on the shelf --NO--> . Fecked
Unless: Who in the town might know ? Name springs to mind. Do we have the number ? --YES--> Do parents know this person enough to ring ? --NO--> Fecked.
Try: Again tomorrow. | |

All the bloody time. I go on wiki to find out something silly about whatever and an hour later I'm reading about Alfred the Great or something. It's not called the net for nothing. You go in and you can't get out.

| I got the briquettes EVM thank you very much. I set a big fire and I was not in the least worried about burning fossil fuels. It was money well spent on your part. Better thawing me out than buying those shares at 1.18 anyway. |

Ah I'm glad you remained unfrozen Dan. I have a plan to resolve my losses on BKIR. I shall buy more. Four times more to dilute my losses.
