Self Help, Improvement and other Money Grabbing Scams

It was reported in Saturday's Irish Times (here) that anti-cult organisation Dialogue Ireland is targetting seminars run by guru Tony Quinn. According to Dialogue Ireland such seminars which aim to "draw out your life and lifestyle from within" can cost between €18,000 and €65,000.

Has anyone ever interacted with a cult like organisation? Not as a member obviously.

I have.
It didn't cost anything like that, 50c for the tea maybe and the price of a pint after the meeting.
