What's Hook and Dunphy doing in a Dáil chamber talking about Lisbon ?

Have I had an internal psychosis occurrence ?

If you had it, so did I. It was the Oireachtas version of "The Panel". Coir appeared this morning and accused the Dail Committee of Treason.

All sorts of people are invited to make submissions to the Dáil committees, they bring lots of various people out to make contributions to the discussion.

Rody Molloy taken down a peg or two. Or 12.

He understood first class travel was in line with public service guidelines ? He now admits he was wrong.

Because he was caught, perhaps ?

They brought a journalist around with them everywhere ? Tommy Broughan Lab. TD asking that question just there.

Peter McLoone said today "there has been" misuse of funds in Fás but now it's stopped. That's the present perfect he used there and I teach EFL students that when we use that tense it signifies it's still going on ..

The Irish are different from the yanks and brits though of course.

16 foreign trips in 3 years, with Ministers on most of them, he said.

Its on now Auditor #9, but there are many better ways of spending time than to listen to it. It has been scheduled to last two days, but Government will not take any questions. There will be statements only. Under the circumstances "debate" maybe isn't the right word.

The Oppostion saying they are being given no information at all as to what is going on with the Social Partners discussions ... this is kinda the opposite of what the Japanese PM was saying.

They are now voting on something - they get a lot more cash and a lot more votes than us... I suppose the answer is just to run myself and stop cownrawning.

Cowen speaking on the economy: rattling through a script, cross tone of voice.

I'm recording it with Realplayer - hopefullly I'll upload it later to youtube to a new 'sock puppet' account I've made - DailTV !!! I'll have to try to figure out the editing though.

Anyone know any other way of doing it besides sticking a video camera off the screen? I've been playing with Download Manager but not enough to figure it out yet. The Dail sessions are ASX files ... scratch

The quality on Realplayer taped sessions is quite bad though visually. The sound is perfect though.

Kenny now on ... he's going to create havoc Smile

Gilmore on now. Whereas Enda was giving Cowen a rough haircut and foot manicure with some blunt instruments, Gilmore is now proceeding to saw off his leg and is also taking out the scalping instruments.

What the hell does Cowen think he's doing giving a half-arsed speech on this as Gilmore says - there's a bus with broken brakes heading for the Cliffts of Moher and the bastartds are shouting "Hey that'll cost you fifty euros" as the bus goes over

Crying or Very sad

"Earn and learn" says Gilmore - give people the option of getting part-time educated if they are getting downsized rather than getting fully laid off and going on the dole doing nothing.

Practical stuff based on the best resource we have: our people, our brains.

One minute left to Gilmore.

Jaysus, Eamon must be reading this site. I'll swear I saw that somewhere here first. It makes enormous sense to offer a study/training grant to employers who are putting people on 3 day weeks. How would you stop it being abused though?
