Nah must be very low volumes of trade... dropped a chunk in the morning and then all the stockbrokers went home so it is just bobbing around with the odd sale.

Hate to be a stockbroker right now - say they're at the tail end of alot of abuse!

No it hasn't dropped below 2,000 in the present situation.

PWC report is out today... we don't know anything more than that. All the saucy bits will be removed anyway - probably a bit like buying a porno in Ireland 30 years ago.

Now we're seeing the afternoon fall off, down 20 in the last hour.

I'm sort of waiting for AIB to hit 0.50 to have a go. No real reason for that, apart from insanity perhaps ...

So 451 minus 83 = 368

Then minus whatever the assessor values the shares at (How many shares) Guess 20 Million.

Then the 10 are liable for 25% of the loan. Page 6 of report. = 112.75


So 451-83-20-112.75 = 235 Million written off ?

9.5 million Directors remunerations.

Assets went up - they loaned more so that people could pay interest, as I recall.

And main bank stocks were doing buoyantly the last time I looked ......

It's kinda really losing whatever's left now ....

Do you know what will have happened to you shares EVM ? What will BOI have done with your ton ?

Gold and silver ? You could be very right though - there must be something as all things are cheap. Have you anything in mind ? It's worth thinking about if you have a spare grand or two - maybe more.

As long as that business stays in business then all stocks will go up eventually. Hugh Hendry on the other thread reckons 10 to 15 years before recovery. Is he scaremongering? What business will last through that ? He reckoned agricultural products would last or at least be stable but he admitted he got it wrong for a rising market price because ag stocks fell despereately he said. They will endure though surely to God (he said it would be 5 to 10 years before they'd get to some highs and make money)

So what will last and if you can find it, what will rise ?

I have 2100 BOI at an average cost of 0.90 cent. So I'm in the poo with that. Someone's getting me back for winning 50p on Red Rum.

Could be they'll have to start making stuff up soon - shares in these banks surely have to be kept at some value don't they ? Could it be that much of a rip off if you were to lose a couple of grand just like that not to mention rakes of others ?

I suppose shares depend on the profits that are made though. If the company is making no profit then the shares are useless. But can it be turned into a sort of cooperative bank where your shares get converted into a kind of deposit that you can't cash for a while. Or is share buying and selling purely gambling (for most people) and you stand to lose it fair and square.

New stuff is going to have to be invented to deal with all this bull$hit now.

18 months ago buying bank shares was a solid investment. These last 6 months it is gambling. If the bank is insolvent, the shares are worthless. End of.
