| Did anyone watch this show last week? I remember ( I shit you not) the original in the 70's. My mother would chase me up to bed as soon as the nudey bit came on . I watched it on UKTV History. It ran for 8 nights and it was absolutely brilliant. I think you can get it on a box set. Derek Jacobi was fantastic in it as Claudius, the stuttering, limping, drooling Roman from the Royal family of Ceaser Augustus who rose to become the Emperor of Rome at around the time of Jesus. Indeed Herod Agrippa was a close friend of his. If you can get it on box set you will not be disappointd. |

| That is one fooked up show. John Hurt was lethal. Put me in mind of his role in "A Man for All Seasons" |

He was great. there is also a character called Solanius played by Patrick Stewart (Cap'n Picard). He has a full head of curly hair. Weird. |

Was this the guy who promoted his horse ? That was Caligula, Claudius's nephew, son of germanicus, Claudius's brother. Caligula was played superbly by a very young John Hurt. |

Incitatus was Caligula's horse Caligula gets such a bad press, he was simply an early exponent of animal rights. |
