Leave this thread immediately if you are embarrassed (spelling?) by karaoke or teenage hair-brush mic abusers knocking them out in their bedrooms in front of their youtube account.
Karaoke often sucks but this chick can sing
If you have any good-quality DIY amateurs then please post them here !
(Warning: if you happen to post p0rn it will eventually be deleted)

On initial reading of the thread title I thought this was going to be about either pornography or monetary investing. Shows you how the mind is a peculiar beast .

The mug on her at the start turned the milk in my tea sour.

She looks like one sourpuss alright
The girl can sing that song though. I wonder is Keith Duffy the only singer I know who wouldn't turn your stomach with the full-of-themselves-with-vanity -
Oh, he can't really sing can he, Keith Duffy? Any more good amateurs out there? Singers will do too

She doesn't strike me as a "woman in love"....as the auld wans used to say "If somebody hits you on the back of the head your face 'ill stay that way."
She can sing...now if she can just learn how to smile.

This bird is impressive and barely amateur by the experience in youtubing she's showing here. This is a nice number and she also does L.Cohen's Halleluia via Jeff Buckley and Damien Rice's Volcano. She's a lot less annoying-looking than the pouty first one above. So far I've stumbled across a lot more chicas than chicos - are there fewer boys or men doing this - or are they shier?

Here's a video from a French kid, MattRach, he was 15 when he made the video, two years later and some 6 million+ hits on Youtube and he's making a bit of a name for himself.
Phenomenal guitarist.

Thoroughly enjoyable - a classic on youtube for sure.
What did it say there on the 8th link at the bottom - he has as many subscribers as Radiohead and Madonna (it's in French so I'm not sure)

This guy is called Ben Clarke. The next best thing to hearing Mr. Squire himself. He can do most of the Roses stuff note perfect and that is saying something.

I'm just charmed by Slim Buddha's avatar - can you post it here, so that when you change it we can still admire it? I can't help thinking it's art imitating life when your computer crashed mid-thesis.

Thanks, Kate. It encapsulates ALL my feelings for IT and was indeed inspired by my first thesis crisis. I admit to nicking it from a poster on "the other place". It was simply too good to pass up such an opportunity when it's so "me".

I, too, have been to that place.
For the full experience, it needs a combination of belated and unwarranted IT failure and an intractable and important deadline.

How right you are, cactus flower. I had all these factors coalescing when the IT problem arose. Intractable and difficult subject, immovable deadline and a random and irrevocable IT catastrophe. The Perfect Storm.
When this type of horror occurs, I always turn to the Silver Lady to calm me down.

Sorry cactus flower, the reference to the Silver Lady was a bit cryptic
Sublime piece of music - love every second of it. Very soothing bass line.........

Funnily a video game including Germans nearly had me doing that with a PS2 once not half as dramatic. Bizarre stuff that the human temper, when lost, generates. I will use this for education purposes in the not-too-distant future.
We should put it on the Eisdiele thread and translate it.

Did you catch up with these girls Auditor #9 - they left their bedrooms and the hairbrush in favour of the x factor. Worth a listen. I couldn't fix all the videos up properly, sorry.

The first one is brilliant - she's got something and the last one - Laura White - WOW! "your version is better than Diana Ross's" - Louis Walsh - are these girls really amateurs at all ??? Some really top notch stuff - how will the professionals compete? - keep us posted on this if you are watching it on tv will you ? I don't watch it.

Yes - an amazing bunch of girls. Two of them are only 17. I love the crazy Spanish girl singing Purple Rain too, Alex, and bold Rache the gaol bird. I saw them this morning and couldn't credit it.

I just watched Rachel the jailchick with the 4 kids - some of those stories are great stories. Have you seen Paul Potts ? Amazing one too. Cowell is great isn't he ? I'm afraid Rachel fell short of Nina Simone but Amy Winehouse fell short of Rachel !
hey cactus congratulations on 8000 posts + !

YouTube is great for finding randomers covering songs. I find that most Regina Spektor songs are covered quite well by fans who put their performance on YouTube.
