Just to state and discuss things you come across which you like.

Do you like the idea? Very Happy

Things I've noticed in the last hour or so which I like:

  • A nice ice cold bottle of Heineken - Just one or two of an evening while I read is pure bliss

  • Having warm feet - I don't do cold and I really don't do cold feet. Hence my desire to move to Arabia.

  • Bed - sitting on or sleeping in there is nowhere more comfortable than your own bed

  • Clever business - It is it's own reward.

Two things which have been in scarce supply in the cookie compound of late.

I'm not supposed to drink coffee at the moment so I popped out to Tesco and got one of their own brand herbal tea
things which is infused with ginseng and mint. It's lovely so, if you're open to tea experimentation, you should try it.

I also love how my little toyota starts up every morning without a complaint.

And yes cookie - a well-written article or book that informs you or clarifies something for you - gold dust- indeed.

Pass on the herbal tea though, I'm with Ard-T !

(what's with the coffee?)

Right, you're off the coffee? Good man. Coffee is deviant, un-natural and against the rythyms of civilised society.

I'd try Assam(which Atticus enjoyed), green tea is grand enough(though it's a but sour with honey), Oolong and my favourite...Earl Grey.

I like looking at stuff that has been done well, trades, crafts, constructions etc.

Whether brand new or 5000 years old, if it is well designed and finished, then I like it.

Remember that program series "Hands". I loved that.

My kids think I'm weird for occasionally pointing out stuff like a stone wall or a piece of furniture, which in my opinion, has been well built.

There is a book by a guy called Richard Sennett called "The Craftsman" which might interest you.

There were two chocolate cakes floating around the department yesterday. One was a nutty brownie type affair and the other a mousse type cake. I had some of both!

Mine has a thick browniesque body. Enriched with delicious chocolate cream, it is topped with crunchable chocolate twirls. Some are milk chocolate, others are white chocolate. It's heavenly.

AT did you make the cake yourself? You really can't beat home made cake, pre-made cake just isn't the same. Pre-made pie, of which I am also a fan, is usually acceptable.

EVM, aye it looks like one of those long interesting reads about topics which interest. They didn't have it in the Eason at Heuston Station. I really dislike that shop.

It was(and I use the past tense pointedly tongue ) a pre-made cake. It was rather nice. I had home-made chocolate cake a few weeks ago and it was indeed a cut above. The difference is the moisture levels. If a chocolate level is nice and moist(home-made) tá sé i bhfad níos blasta than drier(pre-made) cake.

ok time to drag ye away from all things chocolate. What I liked most over the past week was a performance of Bach's St Matthew Passion. Three choirs, two orchestras, bliss.

All right I did have a chocolate brownie during the break ......

*sitting in the garden before the dawn, well wrapped up and waiting for the first note of the dawn chorus

*getting lost in whatever I'm doing

*slobbery kisses and bearhugs from my godson

*the sea, the sea, the sea

*watching things grow

*the right soundtrack (I confess to yowling along to evertything on Today FM's Friday Night 80s and dancing around the kitchen on my own with far more enthusiasm than talent)

*tidying the hotpress and rearranging my books when the world is falling apart

*the sleep of the just

*green food - lettuce, spinach, asparagus (it's nearly time!), cabbage, broccoli - more than chocolate, strangely though not as compulsively

*a good argument - even if I lose but learn something

*other unprintable stuff Cool
