Here we go.

I love beer and if I have to give beer up I will be very angry indeed.

Usually an ice cold bottle of Heiniken keeps me happy but I do like to experiment with the weird and wonderful and also the international.

CM - Did you not know about the protocol to the protocol to the protocol to the back cover of the Lisbon treaty that means only people who vote Yes will be allowed to buy beer after January 1st next year?

I've been looking into Gluten free options should the worst come to the worst.

It seems Budweiser is OK to drink. I think I'd rather go without.

A Bear appreciation thread is well merited. Until it appears, a big thank you to you and all the other Mods for allowing space for discussions that would not otherwise be happening.

Now have a beer while you still can clown

No, I never liked the bitterness. I tend to drink gin and/or wine. I wouldn't recommend using wine as a mixer for gin, though.

Having said that, I was in a micro-brewery in Australia which had all sorts of weird and wonderful beers. They really treated brewing in the same way that wine buffs view wine production. They had some really interesting flavours, like ginger, ginger and coconut, ginger and pineapple, chilli, smoked sausage (!!), as well as the more usual ales and bitters. The ginger one was really quite nice, and the more unusual flavours lacked the bitterness that usually turns me off beer.

Felin Foel (Wales) Budweiser (Prague) some Belgian beer in Brussels was very nice, warm beer out of the bottle on a hot day in the sand dunes...

I never put my beer in the fridge. I love it at room temp. Shocked

My absolute fav'e is Tuborg Pilsner Beer from Denmark. I'd kill for it.

Didn't have to this evening though cheers

I never minded mine at room temp either ( I was a stout man/wine/beer but no gin or spirits ever - yuk)

While out in the Outback in Oz I couldn't but have it cold cold cold. Hence we were always on the hunt for ice. Hence the Aussie signs on the petrol stations in the middle of nowhere

Beer
Ice
Pies
Bait

What more do you need on coastal Australia?

And the anal feckers always had holders for the beer in case your hand warmed it ... Rolling Eyes

It may interest you to know that such a holder is called a zarf and is most important in keeping one's beer cold in warmer climes.

I got one of those beef holder yokies. Haven't made use of it yet, a mate was over in Australia for a semester before Christmas and brought it back. The mother wasn't too impressed with the lady's rear end on it and it was put away in some cupboard! I'll have to find it and give it a go.

Not a fridgeman myself but Tuborg was like the ploughman's piss of the eighties. Charger, Bavaria and Steiger would have been popular contemporaries.

Me, I liked Mc Ardles

There's a name I haven't heard in a hundred years. Didn't they have pretty good ads on tv? Or am I imagining that?

Can't visualize them presently but a local still had it until a few years ago. Hardcore fans in Muineachán and An Lú. Dún Dealgan being it's home.
