Lisbon - sources on the military/defence angle

PostSubject: Lisbon - sources on the military/defence angle   Mon Mar 17, 2008 12:14 am

Anyone reading the Lisbon Treaty will notice the extensive references to defence and military matters. Some of these are plainly written and easily understood. Some are more obscure and need a fair degree of familiarity with what can be a pretty arcane subject. External commentaries can be useful in getting to grips with particular provisions in the treaty. Here are a couple that deal with this issue. The first is a report for the European Parliament on the Common Security and Defence Policy by the EU Directorate General on External Policies. The second is the latest publication from ISIS . Enjoy! clown

The most comprehensive paper on all this from an Irish perspective is the former Green Party senior researcher Carol Fox's paper published by the Peace & Neutrality Alliance. I would start at page 6 Wink
