30 April 1795 – The Reverend William Jackson, United Irishman, agent of the French Revolutionary Government and confidante of Wolfe Tone was found guilty by the British and sensationally committed suicide in the dock by swallowing poison.
30 April 1916: Sniping continued during the night as the Rising came to an end. The men held outside the Rotunda overnight marched off to Richmond Barracks, Inchicore. Here they were screened and questioned by detectives of the DMP ‘G’ Division while held under military guard.
