As fun as internecine rivalry and blood-letting can be, can we focus back on the role of governance. Seathrún's great hemp idea isn't going to gain traction and riadach's Irish university won't be built if we kill each other. Aontas, le do thoil!

Unfortunately, it has to be discussed by both cactus and kate p before it proceeds. Meanwhile, my míliste na gaeltachta are increasing in strength, as is our poitín.

I'd prefer a job that sounds important but in practice only requires my presence and attention maybe once or twice a year. (Obviously I deserve something in the region of €200k + expenses for this job)

Right. Let's get sorted here.

The tea is certainly ró lag - Audi, there's a good lad, make some real tea.

Seathrún you will from now on be head of the Secret Police. Choose a name for yourselves and put in an order for whatever number of black leather biker ensembles you feel your crack commando team will require. You will report directly to me. I'll pass anything of interest on to Audi on a need to know basis.

We need to renegotiate the portfolios of ibis and WbS, please. Leaving those guys idle in those departments means we'll have trouble on our hands before long. Find them something they can sink their teeth into. Mike W, you can take a memo on that please and ensure that the Boss gets it.

Riadach, you should know that I'll do anything for you and your noble ideas but the best I can offer - and you should be damn glad to get them - is a couple of decommissioned prefabs currently in transit from Dublin to the Wesht. Fundraising will get you the rest of the way. My work is done in that regard.

Ard T, that's a very nice tie you're wearing today. Wink

If I stack them like steps, five pre fabs high. It will look like the trinity arts building. That's all I'm looking for really. I think we'll rely on the stil for the ould fundraising.

Ah yes, lsd. To quote Terry Pratchett and Neil Gaiman:

Quote :
Two farthings = one ha’penny
Two ha’pennies = one penny
Three pennies = a thrupenny bit
Two thrupences = A Sixpence
Two Sixpences = One Shilling, or Bob
Two Bob = A Florin
One Florin and One Sixpence = Half a Crown
Four Half Crowns = Ten Bob Note
Two Ten Bob Notes = One Pound (240 pennies)
One Pound and One Shilling = One Guinea

The British resisted decimalized currency for a long time because they thought it was too complicated.

Jays, look away for a moment and find that the Minister for Education has made the Mister for Agriculture head of the Secret Police. Interesting communication lines here....

Fógra Ginearalta do shaoránaigh MN

Having awaited Young Dan's military review for too long I have been
shocked by a briefing from the Chiefs of staff telling me that our
forces are 'not fit for purpose'.

General Declaration of Military Reform

1. 'Coyne and Livery' to be re-introduced.

All Ministers are duty bound to hire Gallóglaigh after the fashion.
(allowing for 13 dead pays per 100 cavalry)
Consapail /Captains of same to be hired at 3 cows and victuals per 1/4 year.
At least four corrughadh /battles to be raised per fothaoiseach.

2. Ceitheirn Tí / Woodkern of no less than than 50 per Minister.

3. Buanadha / bonnaghts to be retained at 3 groats /day

4. Compulsory training of peasantry on Sunday mornings for 'Gairmsluaigh'
Certificate to be awarded for mastery of arquebusiers, sparths and pikes.

5. Creaghts to be sustained i dTír Kate P. Remuneration of 40 barrels of pork, 5 of butter.
(Emergency 'cess' rates applicable)

These are necessary reforms which will implemented on a 'day-before-yesterday' basis.

Definitely, let's formulate and implement policy.

Fundraising indeed. As Minister for Finance, it is my duty to ensure that all Departments receive levels of investment necessary to implement policy. I am currently in the process of formulating a Budget. I shall be publishing a Book of Estimates in the near future and I require submissions from all Ministers.

Thanks very much Kate P. I do like to be sartorially elegant as befits my role in government.
