New Delhi, July 5: The government today approved setting up of a Rs 285 crore Central institute for offering academic courses in petroleum technology and engineering at Rae Bareli, the Lok Sabha constituency of Congress president and UPA chairperson Sonia Gandhi.

However, with the steady growth and rapid development of our national economy, the supply and demand of petroleum has become an important factor to restrict economy development. Whether the national petroleum security will be ensured and to what extent that it can be ensured, which has become a significant problem if we want to double the GDP and achieve the goal of well-off society in twenty years.

What about the little TATA nano ? Isn't that going to make everyone happy ? It costs 2500$ or something and now that petrol is cheap ... (will that petrol last forever though )

There's also the TATA Nano Air Car. The oil companies have probably paid TATA off so he'll keep it out of mass-production for another while. Oil is going to hit 20$ a barrel soon - heard it on Bloomberg last night. The Nano will create a market first, boost people's wealth in India and nearby and should continue regenerating that market with further future cleaner incarnations of the TATA nano.
