How to train death-squads and quash revolutions from El Salvador to Iraq

Wikileaks has done it again. A Special Forces counterinsurgency manual from the US has been leaked. It shows why Iraq has more in common with El Salvador than with Vietnam. The leaking of this manual shows that the occupation of Iraq is anything other than benign. As I've said on this forum before: Iraq is not about stealing oil, it's about controlling (and in this case limiting) oil production, to control the market and the pricing of oil. Remember, Iraq is producing less oil now than it did during sanctions.

I've been studying this 219 page manual for bringing Armageddon to indigenous peoples for a few days and whilst it contains no surprises for me, it is chilling indeed to see such wanton disregard for dignity, freedom and life in black and white. Funnily enough, and as an aside, the site for this particular Armageddon is biblically correct.

The amazing thing about propaganda is that it works even when it's practiced overtly. There's some innane trait in most of us methinks, to see, hear or speak no evil, that others can and will take advantage of. Without wanting to go off topic, I must state that this is now what we're experiencing in the aftermath of the 'no' debacle in the Lisbon referendum: propaganda.

If you can find 'The Century of Self' bbc(2002) . It takes you through his entire career. One of the best documentary series ever

I do indeed. Read "Armed Madhouse" by Greg Palast (financial investigtor turned in one of the world's greatest investigative journalists).

I bought his book recently. Not a bad read - written in the 1920s. He wrote a memoir later in life. I believe he was only related to Freud through marriage but I would have to double check.

Good stuff Hermes. The whole idea is to keep the oil in the ground. Iraq is a tremendous success and has driven oil fron 20 dollars to 140. Everyone in the country is to be killed. The effects of DU means the population will be gone in 2 generations. Nobody here believes the plan is kill billions as the sustainable figure is 500 million but seeing is believing.
